About Allison

Soprano Allison Jones has performed on many stages in the US and internationally. Most recently, she returned to Smetana Hall with Opernfest Prague (July 2025). Jones has participated and won many local and regional NATS competitions, was a finalist in the FAVA Opera’s Grand Concours de Chant (2024), and sang in the prestigious Elizabeth Connell Prize International Singing Competition in London (2024). Jones has sung a variety of repertoire, some favorites scenes have been Ophélie from Thomas’ Hamlet, Donna Anna from Mozart’s Don Giovanni and as Helena from Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. With FAVA Opera, Jones sang the roles of Rosalinde in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, and the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. With Spotlight on Opera, she performed the role of Violetta in La traviata. Previous performance credits of Jones’ include Mrs. Nordstrom in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music, and Geraldine in Barber’s A Hand of Bridge. With Houston’s Gilbert and Sullivan Society, she covered the role of Yum-Yum/Leonora Braham in their production of A Topsy-Turvy Mikado.

Jones graduated with a Master of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Texas at Austin in December 2023. In 2021, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Houston. Since graduating, Jones is performing and also a voice teacher and serving as the Theory Coordinator for the Texoma NATS High School Voice Fellows program. She is also an active choir member and cantor at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Houston, TX.
